Now y’all know I love watching Jermaine’s videos on Youtube, but my favorites are always the ones with him & Penny Janet.
It’s so weird/funny to hear Janet cuss. She is such a soft spoken woman, who seems mild tempered. I had to post this though.
I’mma be real with you. When Aaliyah first came out, I wasn’t a die hard fan. I was a HUGE Brandy fan. I think I have every last one of her albums. It wasn’t til the 2nd album that I jumped on the bandwagon. I wanted my father to get her 2nd album for me, but he wouldn’t cause he told me to record it off the radio. Booooo Nigga Daddy Boooo.
Aaliyah had just parted way with R.Kelly and partnered up with a new team, Timbaland & Missy. Bright Idea. It was their sound that catapulted her to another level, and gave her a different sound. It was her already established fame that catapulted them to a whole new level.
I wonder where they would have been if they never had Aaliyah to produce for? Things to make you go hmmm.
Anyways, I have to post some of my favorite Aaliyah videos this week because it’s the 7th year anniversary of her death. RIP Aaliyah

Missy and Timbo changed the game. This shit coulda came out today & it woulda been poppin in the clubs. They were way ahead of their time. I remember doing the dances from (2:08-2:40) in my room while watching The Hit List, and Planet Groove. Who remembers those shows on BET?

This song is mad pretty, and showed a little more of her range. Plus I think it was an original, unlike “Let Me Know”. I’m not a big fan of the remaking of songs. She looked good singing in the rain too.

I was just comin in my room, and my roommate said to me, “You know Aaliyah just died?”. I was like WTF? “Nuh uh, that’s a rumor.”
I thought it was a rumor because there was a rumor earlier that summer that Eminem died in a car crash on a fake CNN site. When she showed me the real CNN site, I was just like WTF?
I wasn’t a die hard fan, but I didn’t like her music and she was definately talented. I watched all her specials, and taped them. I swear the shit was sad because it was so sudden. Everything was going right for her because she was just putting out new music, and had a new movie coming out in the coming year. She had a good spirit, and the shit was just sad. I got a heavy feeling in my heart when her brother was on VH1 talking about how he found out she died. The fact that her mother wasn’t there for the special said a lot. I just don’t even wanna know what it’s like to lose a child, especially a child that young. RIP Aaliyah, you are truley missed 1979-2001
I remember when I was down south and “Are You That Somebody” had came out. Me and my cousin used to the do the lil foot dance (@ 3:12) in the parking lot when we came home from swimming or the arcade.
So urm, yeah. I forgot why or how I came up with the artists for TT this week, but um yeah. lol. I decided that I would post some videos by some white rappers this week.
